First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has participated in this competition. This competition which is organized by the Student’s College Committee of Perdana College, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), aims to provide the opportunity for students in higher learning institution from different programmes throughout Malaysia to showcase their talent and to sharpen as well as to acquire new skills.

Besides that, this programme will help students to prepare themselves for future challenges by making analytical and creative thinking as well as management skills the essence of this programme especially during challenges involving teamwork. This programme also gives an opportunity for students to gain new knowledge and experience in the business world besides testing their ability to adapt to the real world.

I hope that this programme will be beneficial to students so that the objectives of this programme can be achieved. Lastly, I would like to congratulate the working committee of this programme for making it a success. To all participants, I would like to wish you all the best in completing the challenges that has been given.

I would like to congratulate all the committee members for their effort in the YOUTH CHALLENGE 2011 “CULTIVATE YOUR ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS” programme. Youth Challenge 2011 “Cultivate Your Entrepreneurship Skills” would be the first kind of programme that is organized by Perdana College, UTM and I am proud to be able to be here to say a few words to all of you. Firstly, I would like to congratulate all the committee members for their effort in the YOUTH CHALLENGE 2011 “Cultivate Your Entrepreneurship Skills” programme. As students who are the future leaders of the world, their contribution towards the development of our country’s socio-economy is big. Therefore, students should have the skills and thinking to bring our country forward.

Almost every organization does not only require candidates to have excellent academic result when selecting new employees. They require candidates to also various abilities and skills. Hence, I would like to urge students to equip themselves with appropriate abilities and skills. This programme provides a good platform for students to learn and sharpen their soft skills that would help them to be the future leaders.

Finally, I want to express my appreciation to all participating universities who are willing to come and join our programme. I hope all parties will achieve their objectives from this programme.

Assalamualaikum w. b. t,

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is one of the best universities that has produced the best graduates especially in the engineering field. This is the second time the Student’s College Committee of Perdana College, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), organizes the Youth Challenge 2011 “ Cultivate Your Entrepreneurship Skills ” programme to help students prepare themselves before entering the
workforce.

Therefore, I would like to thank all participating universities as well as committee members in making this first programme a huge success. The workforce is getting more competitive with each passing day. Employees who are multitalented, resourceful and multitalented will be an asset to an organization. Therefore, to be an asset to a company, students have to be open-minded, willing to learn and most importantly able to adapt with new environment as well as new skills. This programme aims to teach students the essentials of being an all rounder.

I hope by joining this programme, students will gain new experience in their respective field as well as new skills that could help them later in their working life. Social skills or soft skills are important for students when entering the workforce. This programme gives students the opportunity to practice what they have learnt in lecture halls. It is an eye opener for them to handle or deal with people from different backgrounds.

Moreover, this programme gives them a chance to share their ideas and meet with other students from different universities. And lastly, I wish all the best to all participants and hope everyone would gain something from this programme.

DIRECTOR OF YOUTH CHALLENGE 2011

Youth Challenge “Cultivate Your Entrepreneurship Skills” is a business and entrepreneurship oriented event focusing on leadership, communication skills, teamworking and adaptability. This event is started by a group of ambitious students of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and is running with full support from the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. Besides that, i feel very grateful as Youth Challenge is getting the support from a lot of universities and colleges nationwide.

In this era of rapid globalization, a university student must always prepare themselves with essential skills so that we can keep pace with other people. The firms today require not just knowledge, but also personal soft skills and socialize capability. We must be an all rounder and always remain employable in order for us to survive in the competitive working environment.

The purpose of the event is to provide a platform to all the universities students to gain new experience in the world of business and provide survival skills in the Real World. Throughout the event, it will help the students to prepare themselves to face challenges by giving priority to thinking and management skills especially in team working challenges. Moreover, Youth Challenge provide chances to all participants to mingle themselves in business field and at the same time cultivate competitive attitude among universities students.

As the Director of Youth Challenge, i would like to convey my outmost appreciation to all participating companies in supporting this meaningful event. I hope that all the participating companies in Youth Challenge 2011 will continue to support this event if there is a third season of Youth Challenge in future as it will help in the upgrade of the university students’ skills besides promoting the company throughout the country. Not forgetting our event’s participating university, i wish to express my gratitude to all participating universities that are willing to be a part of us.

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to thank everyone who voluntary involve themselves in making Youth Challenge 2011 a huge success. Without your support and consistent commitment to the organizing team, it is impossible for us to have today’s achievement. I feel proud of everyone as we are the Youth Challenge organizing committee that has conducted the event successfully. Last but not least, I would like to express my appreciation to Perdana College and Office of Student Affair of UTM for giving us the opportunity to conduct the event and also their full support towards Youth Challenge 2011.
